Magnolias, narcissus, black tulips, ramps…
Spring-awakening at Spital at the Styrian Semmering. Snowdrops,
crocuses, are the harbingers of spring. Narcissuses, tulips, ramp,
violets, columbines, roses, watering heart, rhododendron, hydrangea,
broom, forsythia, magnolias, jasmine, lilac,
cyclamen, meadow saffron and many more flowers flourish at the sonny
side of Spital until autumn.
Also
an "experience biotope" awakes. Marsh marigolds, purple loose strife,
water lilies, arum, different grasses and sea-roses provide a beautiful backdrop
of flowers besides our waterfall.
In addition there were 1200 flower bulbs dibbled in the late autumn
2002 and 3 years ago 120 flowering plants, which blossom this
year. Starting from 1 May - opening of the summer season - one can admire
this in Xaver's country house, at the "Lido of Spital". Either
at the "Heurigen" by the waterfall, at Mani's Jagastueberl
or at the 1837 built Gewoelbeweinkeller (arched wine cellar).
Styrian Schmankerl, selected wines, fine obstler, schnaps,
also GINKGO and delightful alcohol-free drinks for health-conscious
can be enjoyed
alongside the house poppy cake with jam and chocolat.

New perspectives of the ”Plattln”
A 270 m2 large pond with bays. In the summer: an experience biotope
with waterfall. In the winter: Mürztal's first "Ice Stock-Pond
Billiard" with 50 cm high frozen bank around the pond. This new
sport discipline requires not only strength, but feeling, tactics and
techniques such as in billiards. This "more intelligent" ice
stick shooting (Eisstockschiass`n), is great fun and is an folksy sport
in an “ur” styrian environment. Also ladies and children
can indulge in "Ice Stock-Pond Billiard" much fun for everyone
in a totally original game.
Beginners are first given instructions and become personally trained
by Xaver, who is the inventor of this new kind of sport. As a "reward" you
will get during or after the game delicious tings such as Gluhwine,
Heidelbeerchen or Childrenpunsch,

by Maria, and many things more. Muerztaler Buergerschmarr`n with Zwetschkenroester,
smoked fresh trout served warm and other styrian specialities crown
the culinary framework of this sport novelty.
Ice Stock-Pond Billiard, beautiful and unique environment, you can
indulge in immediately at the "Lido of Spital" at the steirischen
Semmering, in Xaver`s country house. This special kind 4-Star Hotel,
is a culinary experience to be indulged in.
